Melissa Murillo is a License Social Worker (LSW). Melissa attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, receiving her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Masters of Social Worker (MSW) with a concentration in mental health. While Melissa enjoys working with a diverse population, her experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults, ages 5 and older in an individual and small group setting.

Melissa believes in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all clients. Melissa takes pride in helping children and adolescents feel confident in their own abilities and recognizing their strengths. By using play, art, and mindfulness, we are able to work on emotional regulation, social skills, self-esteem, and so much more.

Melissa utilizes many therapeutic perspectives mainly focusing on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered, and Strength-Based approaches. Melissa provides support to address anxiety, depression, self-injury, gender identity, trauma, self-esteem, sexual abuse, domestic violence, intimate partner violence, stress, and life transitions. Melissa provides services in both English and Spanish.

During Melissa’s free time, Melissa enjoys reading a great book. Melissa also prioritizes quality time with family and friends.
